Cherry and Marble Table
 |
Designed to go under a particular window
in a specific room of a custom home in the Atlanta, Georgia area, this
table is made of solid wild Cherry with a marble top enhanced with Ebony
inlays in the top, at the top of the legs and as ankle bands. I cut
the Ebony inlays for the top and top of legs 1/4 inch thick. The
ankle bands are actually solid blocks that go all the way through the legs
with hardwood dowels coming up from the bottom to tie the three leg pieces
together. |
| The marble is 1 1/8 inches thick and comes
from the same batch that was used to make the fireplace hearth for the
same room in which the table is placed. The marble came from
salvaged window sills from an old Sears and Roebuck store that was torn
down years ago in Atlanta, Georgia. Because the marble is so thick
the table is very heavy.

Approx. 91.4cm (36 inches) wide
