A interesting free-form
coopered
box of Kurupay from South America with Aspen veneer sandwiched in between
along with a bold solid Ebony collar around the lid. Kurupay is an
unusual wood in that it turns the red color you see here after it has been
exposed to sunlight. This is significant because most woods that
have a red coloration fade when exposed to sunlight to some form of brown. |
| Opened, one will notice, the coopered body
curves in along the front and back adding further to the unusual design as
well as increasing the challenge in the coopering. |

The lift-out tray pulls together all of
the elements of the design. Its body is a 5 ply lay-up of Aspen
veneer with a Kurupay handle and Ebony rub rails. Inside the lid,
the tray, and inside the bottom of the box are lined with black velveteen
fabric.Size:
Approx. 28.6cm (11 1/4 inches) wide
Approx. 20.3cm (8 inches) deep
Approx. 14.6cm (5 3/4 inches) high
