Sweetheart Serving Tray

This is the ad we put together for the Relay For Life charity event for 2004

Relay For Life Sweetheart Serving Tray

Just imagine the look of surprise and delight on your sweetheart’s face when she/he discovers this little treasure of a gift! Not only will she/he love to own such an heirloom keepsake, but you will know you have done a truly good deed because you received this as a thanks for making a contribution of at least $250 to the Relay For Life fund raiser of The American Cancer Society. I created this design (with valuable ideas from my loving wife) expressly for this charity drive to encourage kind folks to make contributions to such a worthy cause. It works like this: you write a check payable to The American Cancer Society, give it to me and I give you a tray as my thank you! The hearts and the diagonal boarder frame and the dovetail keys in the corners (barely visible in the lower picture) are Red Bloodwood. The background of the tray surface is Russian Baltic Birch and the body of the tray is Honduran Mahogany. The tray is approximately 19 1/4" wide by 13 1/2" deep by 3 3/4" high and has a hand rubbed lacquer finish. Contrary to the usual practice of running the wood grain vertically when making hearts of wood, I chose to run the grain horizontally to suggest the flow of love between the two hearts.
